Highlighted Treatment Interventions

At HVCCT, we use evidence-based cognitive and behavioral interventions to help people build practical skills and create lasting change. Below are five key interventions we frequently use in treatment.
Exposure Therapy
(Exp)
Exposure therapy helps clients gradually face feared situations, thoughts, or sensations. Over time this reduces fear and avoidance and builds confidence. It is used to treat phobias, panic, worry, health, anxiety, and more.
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)
ERP is the gold standard treatment for OCD. Clients gradually face feared thoughts and situations while learning to resist compulsions and rituals. With practice, this helps break the OCD cycle and reduces anxiety.
Habit Reversal Training
(HRT)
HRT is an effective treatment for body-focused repetitive behaviors, such as hair pulling and skin picking. It builds awareness of urges and uses competing responses and practical strategies to reduce triggers and improve control over these behaviors.
Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics (CBIT)
CBIT is a first line behavioral treatment for tic disorders, including Tourette’s Syndrome. It builds awareness of tics, teaches competing responses, and addresses triggers that may increase tics.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I)
CBT-I is the most effective evidence-based psychological treatment for chronic insomnia. It addresses thoughts and behaviors that interfere with sleep and helps establish healthier sleep patterns.
