Convenient, Secure Therapy Wherever You Are

Telehealth allows you to meet with a HVCCT psychologist online, from the privacy and convenience of your home, office, college campus, or another appropriate location. Sessions are conducted through a secure video platform and offer the same individualized, evidence-based care as in-person therapy. HVCCT provides telehealth appointments for children, adolescents, adults, parents, and couples when clinically appropriate.

Telehealth makes it easier to continue therapy when you are away at college, have transportation or scheduling challenges, live outside Rockland County, or simply prefer the convenience of meeting remotely.

Before your first appointment, your psychologist will provide instructions for connecting to the secure video platform. You will need a reliable internet connection, a device with a camera and microphone, and a private space where you can speak comfortably.

Telehealth sessions follow the same general format as in-person appointments. Your psychologist will work collaboratively with you to understand your concerns, establish treatment goals, and develop practical strategies based on cognitive behavioral therapy.

A private workspace for secure telehealth therapy sessions
  • Log into the platform about 10 minutes before your appointment in case you encounter any technical difficulties.
  • Choose a quiet, private space where you can speak comfortably and without interruptions.
  • Consider using headphones to increase privacy and reduce background noise.
  • Let your psychologist know your physical location at the beginning of each session.
  • If privacy may be interrupted, consider establishing a code word with your psychologist ahead of time.

HVCCT psychologists provide virtual therapy services in New York, New Jersey, and in other states where they are authorized to practice. Availability varies by clinician and by the location where the patient is physically present at the time of the appointment.

Patients receiving teletherapy services will be asked to complete a telehealth consent form before beginning treatment. This form is located in the packet of forms you will be asked to complete prior to your session.
